Cabin M

project type: Cabin location: Stadlandet, Norway size: 60 m² status: finished

Cabin M is developed in collaboration with Stad Kystbygg AS and explores a modular cabin system designed for adaptability to diverse and rugged landscapes. The initial module concept was developed by the engineers at the building company, forming the technical foundation of the project.

Following architectural involvement, the focus shifted to refining the configuration of the modules to create spatially engaging and flexible cabin layouts. A substantial part of the process was dedicated to the conceptual phase, studying multiple combinations and arrangements to identify solutions that balance functionality, adaptability, and architectural clarity.

The resulting system allows the modules to be combined in various ways, enabling the cabin to respond to different site conditions, slopes, and orientations. Through this configurational flexibility, the cabins achieve effective shelter from weather, clear functional organization, and strong visual connections to the surrounding landscape.

By integrating structural logic with architectural intention, the project delivers a modular solution that is both robust and adaptable, capable of generating diverse spatial outcomes while maintaining a consistent architectural identity.
