Atelier Fercak er et arkitektkontor fra Stadlandet på Norges vestkyst, som arbeider med prosjekter på ulike skalaer og i flere land, med fokus på identitet, landskap og material.
Cabin T
Cabin T is an off-grid cabin concept developed in close collaboration with Stad Kystbygg AS in Stadlandet. The project takes an initial volumetric framework and refines it into a carefully considered architectural design. Large windows frame the surrounding landscape and bring it into the interior, while more enclosed areas provide shelter and intimacy. By thoughtfully integrating natural light and high-quality materials across both interior and exterior, the project softens the boundary between inside and outside, creating a space that feels closely connected to its natural surroundings.
Kyrkja Stadlandet
Developed in close collaboration with the community of Stadlandet, this project introduces a new church hall in Leikanger and renovates the existing building to create shared spaces for meetings and children. Careful attention to light, materials, and geometry shapes the interior of the hall, while a simple concrete volume responds sensitively to the local context and the building’s public role. The project is currently in the application phase, with construction expected to begin in 2026.
Reconstruction of Villa K
This post-war villa reconstruction in Slovakia responds to a steep and limited site by reducing the building footprint to create more usable garden space. The main living areas connect directly to the outdoors, blurring the line between interior and exterior, while the carefully organized interior provides varied, intimate spaces for a family of four. A central sculptural element anchors the design, serving as structure, fireplace, and spatial organizer, reinforcing both function and atmosphere throughout the house.
Building in landslide terrain
Building in a Landslide Terrain is a research project focused on developing architectural principles and planning frameworks for construction in landslide-prone areas in Vestlandet. Addressing a landscape where risk from landslides, rockfalls, and avalanches is both common and increasing, the project explores how future building practices can respond more responsibly, safely, and resiliently to these conditions.
Models
Physical models are an integral part of the design process, especially in the early phases, allowing the study of materials, light, and spatial possibilities. They also serve as a powerful communication tool, often conveying ideas and project potential more effectively to clients than drawings alone.
